We all met at the Heritage Bakery and Deli in Chester Vermont. This is a very good place to get a sandwich made and eat breakfast before starting out on the trip.

We left as planned at 10:00 A.M. from the Bakery. We had 20 people in attendance. There were 5 no shows and we never heard from them as to why they couldn't make it.

We arrived at the mine site around 10:30. Linda Soter signed us all in and collected $15 per adult and $5 for children 12 and under. She also had everyone sign a waiver.

She gave a short talk about the equipment ie; Pans and collecting bottles. She also gave us directions about where to collect. Once we were all panning she spent some time with us to help us identify the gold specks in our pans.

One of our members, Jim Wlodyka, was very helpful walking around to make sure everyone had some gold to take home. I was unable to walk very much that day to get around to see people due to my polymyalgia, but it seem as if everyone was having a good time in spite of the off and on rain showers.

All in all, I feel it was a successful gold panning trip and worthwhile repeating again next year if all are in agreement.
