Beauregard Mine, Sept. 2015

20 of us met up in front of the Gilsum Village Store, and the weather was as perfect a day as you could ask for,,, and NO bugs besides!
This summer had several real heavy rain storms before the trip, so I was hoping a few specimens might have washed out.
Once we arrived at the mine, I gave a short talk on the history of the mine and pointed out digging areas.
In the short time we were standing there, several members found beryl crystals under their feet, before I even finished talking, the rain had done it's work.
I think everyone found several good beryl crystals along with schorl, mica and manganoapatites, even a few small garnets, the digging and busting rock payed off.
We stayed late in the day, as everyone was having good luck, and of corse,,, they didn't want to quit.
