Wrentham field trip 2013

The Wrentham field trip ran into some trouble before it began. Both the original leader and the replacement had to drop out, and I was asked to fill in. Fortunately, the job wasn't too demanding, as the others had already done all the work. I didn't have to do much more than take attendance.
Sixteen club members met at the quarry on September 28th. We signed the liability releases and were escorted in. We joined a group from the Boston mineral club who had already been digging for a few hours. Our target mineral at the quarry was amethyst, but it proved elusive, and most of us had to settle for white quartz, calcite, and a bit of pyrite. Even if we didn't find much, it was a nice day to be outside. The last of us left the quarry around 2.
