Don Davis' Herkimer Diamond was a very complex crystal, AKA a “Skeletal Herk” 5 1/2"x 3 1/2"
Don not only won the Blue Ribbon for:
#14 .   Specimen from New York *Herkimer quartz crystal, Montgomery County, NY,
but he also won the Judge's Choice Plaque: voted on by 3 Judges: Fred, Lee & Wayne.
Don also won the Best in Show Plaque: voted on by the entire membership even before
the membership knew of the Judges Choice decision. It was a large, beautiful, clean
Skeletal crystal with no noticeable damage, very clear with black Anthraxolite inclusions!
Don also won Blue Ribbons for 2 other categories:
